Internship to Work

Tech Smiths, the Mid-Hudson Valley’s only Apple Authorized Service Provider is offering an Apple Certified Macintosh Technician training and certification internship for a passionate, self-motivated Macintosh/PC/Unix computer and networking geek.

The internship is designed that in lieu of payment, you will have unlimited access to the official Apple Certified Macintosh Technician training materials and diagnostic tools as well as practical hands on training in repairing and troubleshooting Apple computers – a $3000 value if pursued independently. Additionally, Tech Smiths will pay for the first set of two certification tests – $150 each ($300 total). Upon successfully passing the two ACMT tests, you will be considered for paid employment **.

You must be able to effectively and comfortably communicate technical information to both novice and expert users in a patient, friendly manner.

You must be organized, dependable, and trustworthy with valid New York driver’s license.

Job Summary:

To provide technical based customer service to walk in customers. This position requires the ability to effec- tively communicate technical information in ways novice to expert computers users can understand. Patience and a friendly demeanor is also required.

Requirements and Description:

✤ Previous technical and repair experience is a must
✤ Ability to troubleshoot and repair Macintosh and Windows based hardware and software issues✤ Must enjoy meeting people and communicating with customers
✤ You have a burning desire to solve technical issues
✤ You can communicate technical concepts in layman’s terms
✤ Ability multi-task in a busy technical environment
✤ Ability to turn around customer repairs as quickly as possible
✤ Being a “go-to” person for other store employee’s
✤ Having passion about customer service and a commitment to exceeding expectations
✤ Apple Certified Mac Technician preferred but not required
✤ Assist with customer service and sales transactions as needed
✤ Lifting 25 to 50 lbs and working in various environments required
✤ Quirky and fun-loving with other computer/artistic/musical/photographic interests a plus!
