A week ago, my computer encountered a catastrophic failure. My life was
on that pc...two years of work documents and a lifetime of pictures,

so i talked to apple and they directed me to a authorized service provider..(Tech Smiths)...i normally don't trust any one w/ my computer...but after talking to brian and alan, they answered all of my questions with out hesitation and knew what was wrong w/ my computer and how to fix it....they were very good with the time frame of when my computer would be fixed and ready to pick up....everything is running great now!!!!

Thank you GOD for Tech Smiths! I arrived with a hard drive that wasn't working and when we plugged it in it started smoking! (YIKES!) But Brian took it apart and matched some other parts with other hard drives in a serious surgical procedure and managed to save all of my data.

From the date I purchased my beloved Black MacBook to the present, I never had a problem.... until... last week, when my computer froze and wouldn't start up. OHHHHHHH NOOOOOO... I had always meant to get a back up for my hard drive, really... but oh nooooo... I have a buddy who works at the Apple store in Albany who gave me the lowdown of what he suspected and the cost... rather than drive all the way up there, I found Tech Smiths on the Mac web site. I figured it would be worth a shot to try them first. From the moment I arrived and dropped of my precious MacBook to the moment I picked it up, the staff was HONEST, super cool and SAVED the data off my hard drive for way less $$$ than what my Apple Store friend claimed it would cost. Not only did they sort me out with solid advice and service, they obtained a new FREE keyboard cover thing which was covered by Apple... and put the latest operating software in for me for a nominal fee. The guys were awesome, compassionate and well versed in the ways of an apple user. I hope I never need them again, but I'm so GLAD to know where they are should anything like this happen to me again. Experience, teamwork, and good communication sum up my first encounter with Tech-Smiths’ staff. And I didn’t have to take my 5-year old iMac to Albany for service!
Had a bad display glitch that was determined to be a known problem. Apple supplied the fix – part and installation – gratis.
Next, the degrading performance was caught in time to prevent complete disk failure. All data successfully transferred to a new drive. Tech-Smiths even upgraded OS X for me!
My iMac was ready for pickup much sooner than expected. I have already recommended Tech-Smiths to fellow computer users.
